Is the coil spring on the parking brake able to be rewound ?

The brake won't return hardly when released.

Theres a way to do it on the autozone site, but I just don't get it.

The brake does'nt hold very well either.

Sounds like your cables are getting stiff if its not wanting to return. Go under the truck and grab the cable that runs along the frame rail in the drivers side and ynk it down to enguage the parking brake. Let go of the cable and see if it returns to its normal position or if it just sags there. If the parking brake doesn't hold very well, you need to adjust the rear brake shoes. Jack up the rear end so the tires are off the ground (block the front tires so it doesn't roll) There will be a rubber plug in the backing plates, remove it and use a brake spoon and turn the brake adjusters while rotating the tire, stop adjusting when you start feeling a bit of drag on the brakes.

Any idea on the coil spring in the parking brake?

The cables under the truck return ok.

The pedal for the brake does not return back to it's original position after being released.

There is a coil spring in there and it does something.
