painting rims

ok ive been thinkin about painting my rims on my stock 2007 ranger and i photoshoped what it would look like

and i would like to get yalls opnion. and friday iam going to install some 20% window tint on my front windows and 5% on the back and i have already smoked my rear tail lights

Matches up real good, the flat finish balances out the paint's shine really well too.

looks good! i recently rattle can painted my stock steelies with a similar color to hide the rust. rustoleum 'charcoal green' enamel in semi-gloss. it's more of a dark gray/teflon like yours.

I like flat wheels alot actually. I did mine in a pure white Rustoleum enamel.

I just sand blasted mine (with play sand of all things, I don't particularly recommend it but a $3 for 50lbs vs $20-$40 for 20lbs...) to clean them up. A quick wipe with mineral spirits and some painters tape.

looks good! nice photoshop skillz, when i painted rims in the past i used self etching primer first then painted them with 2 coats plus a clear coat.

HAHA, sorry. Missed that little detail.

I would suggest that you go get an orbital power sander and hit them good until the shine is dull. then paint them

that way im sure i removed every bit of paint on the angles

Just have them sandblasted. An orbital sander is just going to chew them up, too many little crevices. You don't even have to unmount them, I sand blasted mine with the tire still on the rim. I tested it on an old tire before though, I couldn't get it to make any kind mark or blemish on the rubber whatsoever.
