Painting my truck this summer.

My truck has little dents and dings all over it, along with two scrapes going down the full length of the drivers side, so im going to do a little body work on it this summer, and then take it to a shop to get it painted.

How much do you think this is going to cost me/where?

And any good ideas on colors?

Black is the easiest to color match, actually there is no such thing as matching black. But it shows dirt and scratches. Lighter colors show the least, but are usually harder to match and are best painted with the same batch of paint.

Leave the dents in and throw some desert camo on it!!!!!!

I dunno, i might not do it at all.
My brothers POS nissan broke down, so i put in some money on that (only cuz i owed him some haha) so he would have transportation to work.

Basically, i just became low on funding. Haha

1) Repainting it the stock color is usually cheapest.

2) Lighter colors show fewer flaws.

you can get a cheap syphon sprayer ($25) even at walmart. not bad for the money, but gravity feed are better. i would use a good primer also. you need a compressor (please dont use a wagner power painter) ive seen it done too many times, and it looks horrible! the small stuff like sand paper, strainers. it looks best if you clear coat after, you can get most the stuff somewhat cheap at a body shop supply store.

I just painted a '85 Ranger. I sanded it some, took a roller with Tremclad, lightly sanded that, then spraybombed it with some metallic paint. Came out real nice. Total cost was about $200.00
I rolled the paint on to fill in any scratches and minor imperfections before the final coat. Could have rolled on primer instead, but the paint was on sale and came out to less than half price.

Ive already got a compressor, ill need to pick up the sprayer sometime soon, along with some cheap "test paint" that ill use on my lawn mower for practice. haha. Ill eventually getting around to painting it (part by part prolly) sometime this summer
