Painting a Tailgate

My brother got me a new tailgate (the sheetmetal) off of ebay, and I wanted to get it painted. I was wondering if anybody knows what kind of price I should expect, so I can avoid getting ripped off.

I went to a local Chrysler dealership with a body shop, and they wanted $300 to paint a brand new, already primed tailgate. I figured they just don't want to do a little job, and they'd make it worth their while if they did.

What do you guys think?

Paint is getting very expensive so 300 isn't far off. I wanted to get a hatch from a grand cherokee painted once...they wanted over 300 for that.

300 is perfectly reasonable.
