So i painted my ranger today (pictures will be up when its all done...give it a couple weeks) and with me not having a clean shop and paint booth, i got quite a bit of dust/dirt/debris in the paint. i was fully aware that this would happen cause im still happy with how it turned out. Their is also one run with the paint.

Now, my question is is do i clear coat it now and then wet sand or wet sand the paint without the clear coat on and try to get the dust and paint run out? Learning on the job is fun though!

Wet sand now, maybe lay another base coat, wet sand again, then lay clear coat.

You can't clear it with an over-gloss anyway. You will never get that out if you do.

ahh sweet, thanks. Not the first vehicle ive painted but the first ive painted on my own. I painted my dads scout II last year and it turned out completely different. No runs or dust or nothing in the paint...but, im learning and i cant wait for my finished product.

I took an auto graphics class last year. I am by no means a skilled auto painter, but I made enough mistakes that I learned how to fix them pretty well.
