Package tray

I have an 04 Ranger Edge extended cab. There is slot on the rear wall and two small slots on the side walls just behind the seats that appears to be for a shelf or tray. Anyone familiar with this and any ideas where I might purchase one?

Without seeing what you are talking about and only riding that bodystyle of truck once it may have been a roll up cargo cover. I don't think there was a shelf made for them.

its a spot for a roll up cover. the covers were common on the 98-00 rangers. my 06 has the spots for the cover. after obtaining a cover from the salvage yard i work at i put it in for shits and giggles. never seen the cover on a ranger newer then 2000

Is it in fact just a cloth shade? If so I guess I will just try to make a shelf myself.

its made of vinyl. if you make a self post pics of it

Will do. I will use a 1X12 for the shelf and 1" pic tubing for legs. Will probably cover with gray or black Naugahyde.

I had one of these in my 88 Extended cab but eventually took it out because I was always putting in and removing tools and whatnot. It was part of the XLT (or whatever it was called) trim level that the original owner ordered.

There was a rewind feature on mine that worked OK. A solid shelf won't need that of course...
