2003 ranger xlt 2.3 5spd w/ 3.73 axle. stock p225 70 r15 will p215 60 r15 be possible. will it look ok. thought this would reduce axle ratio w/o changing ring and pinon. will this give me the same effect. useing the tire calculator this should give me a 4.09 (ratio effect) any advice would be helpful . p.s i know it sounds CRAZY, laugh if you must. thanks. alan8888

Only you can decide if it looks OK. I'd go for it.

Not at all crazy.

I've seen some gen3's with 185/75R14 tires on them. With a 4.10 rear axle ratio that truck is geared steeper than my 235/75R15's with 4.56's.

just be sure to re-calibrate your speedometer afterwards. 2003 runs off the tone ring on the rear axle, so it's all done by computer.
