hey all,
I got me a p1507. poor idle.
I suspect the IAC, which i removed and cleaned real nice like.
Already cleaned the MAF and the EGR....checked for vacuum leaks by sprayin' carb cleaner around.

I just figured I'd run this by all you homies before I go buy something I may not need to buy.

Thanks for any responses and happy holidays, you fat turkey bellies!!:D

Here's a test for you IAC

1. Check for battery voltage on the Red (RD) wire of the Idle Air Control (IAC) solenoid with the ignition key in the Run position.
2. Back probe the White/Light Blue (W/LB) wire of the IAC solenoid with a jumper.
3. Start the engine and have an assistant maintain idle RPM to keep the engine from stalling while grounding the other end of the jumper wire.
4. If the RPM doesn't flair up close to 2000 RPM when the jumper wire is grounded, replace the IAC solenoid.
5. If the RPM does flair high, check the W/LB wire back to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) pin 83 for an open circuit.

Also, When was the last tune-up? Hows the air filter look? How old if the fuel filter?

dang. thanks for the complete IAC check list. i'll get to it tomorrow when i get off the couch.

I change my air filter very often as i live on a dusty cattle ranch. september.
I put a new fuel filter in just about a month ago when it started to buck. it seemed to solve that problem.

i bought the truck in March and so far pretty good.
