P/S seat belt retractor fits, but not

I'm kind of screwed here right? Figuratively because literally it absolutely is not :cry. The back pins fit perfectly but not the hole. Any suggestions besides ordering an aftermarket one? i did that for the driver side but was hoping to save a bit of cash and bought a rebuilt OEM one from Ebay....always something with this build...

If your truck is like mine, those things have to fit perfectly. The ones I have messed with have a pendulum that swings back and forth. That is what locks the belt from moving when you are braking, and that is why the belt won't co-operate sometimes when you are parked on a steep hill. If you mount it in there crooked, then it will never want to work right.

Try it while you have it out. See how the belt acts when you move the assembly around at different angles and see if that is the way yours works also. If you make it work, just make sure it's mounted at the correct angle or it will be a constant aggravation.
