Hi All,

I am new to posting here so I am not sure if this is the place to ask a question. I have a 2008 Ranger Sport 126,000 miles on it 4.0 L V-6. Today I drove from my work to home with the defroster on and when I got home and parked I noticed a decent size puddle on the ground when I came back out to my truck 10 minutes later. I tasted the liquid and it was definitely not coolant. I saw that in the front passanger wheel well there was what I would describe as "condensation" forming along the frame and dripping in the same area where the puddle was on the ground. I did not drive through any puddles or wet areas... I dried off the frame area and started my truck with the defroster off and no water was leaking...I then turned the defroster on and I noticed dripping occurring when I moved the wheel well plastic protector...My question is this...is this normal condensation that is occurring and nothing to worry about? Or this this a water leak I should be worried about. Please note that the liquid tasted like water (not coolant) and the droplets along the frame were the same as the outdoor temperature if not a bit colder. I would say the original "puddle" on the ground was the size of my hand opened up.

Thanks again and if this needs to be moved to a more appropriate form please do so as I need some feedback to my concerns.

It's normal. When you run the defroster your A/C runs to remove moisture. Hence the condensation.

Ok thank you for the reply. This is what I suspected. I was just not sure as this was much more condensation that I have ever seen (just to note..it was about 57 degrees outside and 85% humidity) under my truck after running the defroster.
