What was labor like? I've always wondered.....

Well, I didn't exactly experience it myself....but I was there.

It's overstated. Yes, a first labor can be tens of hours long. No, it's not General Hospital for 30 hours. Maybe for 30 minutes.

My wife likened early labor pains to beer farts.

Her "pain scale" was 2 when admitted to the hospital, went to 4 late.

For comparison, the supposedly rare dural puncture headache afterward was a 10.

Modern pain killers or just good labor?

I hear modern meds takes all the fun out of labor these days :laughing:

You can't get dural punctures with "natural labor." They come from botched epidurals.

But there were no meds until quite late.

List of things I know about birth:
-Gestation takes approximately 9 months.
-Women gets emotional, meets wierd new friends in meetings, kind of like AA, but annoying.
-Women complains the whole time, even if it is the 10th kid and already knows what is going to happen.
-I will never have to deal with my wife getting the infection

I had one done. The pain was nothing really. Not compared to a double hernia. The nice thing is being able to sling dick like some sort of blackjack dealer with no worries of paternity suits, which I have to defend myself against twice in my life.

You will notice no difference in volume of "shot". Actually, if you had one one and didn't know, you wouldn't figure it out.
