Overhead console

Anyone here install an over head console in a Ranger that came out of an explorer with a power sun roof? If so, my question is what holds the back of the console up? The bracket is made different than one without a sunroof. Also, I have a 2005 Ranger, what is involved installing a dome light with map lights? And which ones work? My truch is a 4 door. Thanks

If your truck has a dome light with map lights then all you need is a new one which can come from a f150 with the light you're looking for. If it doesn't, i believe you have to run a wire from behind the dash and up to the light so you can work the map lights. As for your overhead console, i've seen it done but i do not know about the sun roof part.

I have a 1999 Explorer with a sunroof, the back of the roof console is held by the push on trim that goes around the sunroof opening in the headliner.
