Overdrive Lock-Out Switch Not Working?

Guys,

My overdrive lock-out switch located on the end of the auto's shifter handle, column mounted, has stopped working. The transmission still operates as it should, but the switch will not lock-out the overdrive. The lamp on the instrument cluster does not illuminate either.

Is there a quick "fix" for this? I mean, is there a fuse that could be blown that would cause this to happen?

Most likely the shifter wire is broken.

Most likely the shifter wire is broken.

Or switch is bad. Pull on it it should come off.
