over heating

Well I got my engine in and it runs really well except it is over heating. I need to seal the space between the radiator and the radiator support bracket. I am going to put the sidewinder in by the fan man. have very little room between the engine and the Duffy four core radiator. I am thinking about using weather stripping from around a window. My question is will the rubber on the seal decay because of the heat from the radiator? Thanks

If your are going to use electric fans and they are rated to be able to pull enough air through the rad then you shouldn't have to use weather striping.
