Woke up late for my orientation. Started the truck, it started hard, took a 5 minute shower went out windows weren't defrosted yet. Scraped the window and took off. Got about a mile away to the hill and noticed the temp guard all the way on red hot. Got 2 pings from the engine before I got it to the top shut it off. Called the girl friend. Pulled off the radiator cap what little bit of radiator fluid was in there boiled out. That's when I knew it froze. Was 5 degrees last night. 2 minutes later started it. It ran fine and was at normal temp. Got a ride to my orientation.

Had her pick up antifreeze for both rigs. THe car had slush in it. Put some antifreeze in the truck started right up drove it home the temp change only came off dead cold once, it spiked to hot then back down to cold. Noticed I had no air. After letting it Austin the drive way while squeezing hoses and fiddling with the air a puff of steam came out from under he hood and the air started working. Hot as it ussually is and the temp change is now working

Being a 300k mile engine I'm worried about it. I'm assuming everything was frozen in it (thermostat radiator the heater thing)

Oh and there isn't water in the oil

So I just drove it and I'm getting nothing for heat except when I'm driving then I get a little but I can't hear the fans working.

2.3?

Sounds like a head gasket issue. My 2.3 wouldn't heat up with a bad head gasket.

Man, you are just having NO luck lately!

4.0. And I just realized my blinkers and heater aren't working. So I tryed koeo and they worked started it up they quit working wtf?

Bad luck is better than no luck? I haven't caught a break since the 3rd grade!!!

If she runs you're probably fine. I threw a belt on the highway and cooked my old 4.0 because I was an idiot and tried to coax it to the next exit.

Pop the radiator cap, and have a look while she's idling. If bubble show up in the coolant, it's exhaust gas and you need work. If it's still you're OK.

Check your grounds first for the electrical stuff.

Well when it doesn't blink it doesn't show up on the dash or outside no blink sound. Must've got something wet I think its just a loose wire. But idk how the fan and blinkers aare connected?

Battery and engine ground straps-if the battery is loose all electronics will be weird.

Two unrelated features not working at the same time. Check fuses first.

Was the coolant system full and operational before the fact? Is coolant leaking somewhere?

Coolant isn't leaking wired thing tho. If I leave it running with the cap on then every 5 minutes pull the radiator cap off it'll spew out coolant instead of going into the over flow. Is it supposed to do this? I filled it drove it like 20 mins yesterday and the fluid was down by about a 1/4 in the radiator.

And I got both the heater and blinker to work. I found a bare wire from the previous owner

Also it seems that if I leave the cap off the coolant level eventually rises and pushes all the water out. But there aren't any bubbles coming out

You prolly dodged a bullet.Get a bunch of anti-freeze and a 5$ tester The only time I run water is when I have a leak. I run 50/50 store brand green stuff. I keep a gallon of mix in every car. But my cars are old. Newer cars have a higher spec coolant. Good luck.

Yikes, you were running water in your engine in cold weather, hope you didn't crack the block or radiator. Check for leaks ASAP.
