one of my buddies is building a SAS ranger for local mud runs and is taking off the cats and running a straight pipe. its a 95 4.0. it looks like the flange in from of the cats is oval shaped, is there anyway we can find a regular flange to bolt up?

nobody? this truck will definatly not be going on the road so it isnt illegal on an offroad only truck

Look up "converter test pipe" or "converter eliminator pipe" on Google. They have the correct flanges on both ends and are a direct bolt on fit. They run about $30 or $40 last time I checked.:icon_cheers:

I'm in the same boat and I can't find any. Link?

The best way to do it is to take some 3" pipe, expand it a little, then compress it on two sides, into an oval shape. Make it just big enough to fit in between the two layers of pipe (youll know what I mean when you cut it off at the cats) then weld it up.

peace.

That whats I was planning on doing but I thought if I could get a pipe that'd work good too. Alright I'll go with that plan

I can't find a link for the pipe. Have been out of the exhaust business a long time so maybe they are not available any more. J.C. Whitney used to sell them. Also, you could try Midas Muffler; if they are available they know where to get them or may be able to weld one up if it,s legal for off road.

Way back, it was legal for a shop to make an eliminator pipe for over the counter sale, but one could only be installed for diagnostic purposes and then taken off.

If the truck is strictly for off road you could bust out the insides and just bolt the flanged shell back up; can't legally drive it or get it inspected that way though.

We decided to punch some homes in a piece of sheet metal and weld tube onto that instead. its ugly but works.
For my truck, where can a get the 2 bolt flange that bolts to the back of the cat pipe, I want 2 1/2" and can find much.

how much did they charge you?

Found one listed, but it's pricey. Item number: 390162230004 Ebay $79.95 plus 18.25 shipping, but it fits a 94 4X4 Ranger 3.0L.:icon_thumby:
