Hey guys new to the forum and I have a question! I'm getting a tbird turbo engine complete for my ranger. Think it's an 88/89. Oh and it's basically free. Anyway the engine has an automatic transmission currently attached and I was wondering if my 5speed trans in the ranger currently will bolt up and function correctly. And will the tbird computer function correctly without the automatic transmission???

I'm not sure about function of ecu. I'm currently doing a svo swap right now. The ranger 5 speed and clutch is direct fit. Need to use flywheel from your original 2.3. The stock clutch and all is perfect fit and will hold up to stock level performance so I've heard, But as for ecu I can't help I just wired up a megasquirt last night for my truck.

Yeah Im guessing then the trans bolt pattern will be the same. Just flywheel. Anyone have an answer to my ecu question? Will it work?

Sweet man thanks. I'm guessing there's no way to flash an ecu and program it with the 5speed code? I've also heared I'll need a new clutch. I guess the splines on the output shaft are different? ****!
