The best way I have found to clean carpet while its out of the truck is to go ahead and put a rubber floor back in where the carpet used to be. I found both of my rubber floors at the JY. They were both flawless and the one for my Reg cab was 5.99 and the one for my Super Cab was 7.99.

Simple Green works on just about every type of material. And is safe on most too. doesn't dye it green. But would not recommend use on white carpet. LOL

You could also use a carpet cleaner with an Upholstery tool and leave the carpet in the truck

i did that in my old 94, remove the console,seat etc, evetything came out like new.

Honestly, all of those methods work well. It only matters what works easiest for you and how many man hours you wanna do. I yanked the carpet out of my 93 Moosebox and blasted it via carwash, took 15 minutes to annihilate it with the engine degreasing mode but a day to dry. Also have done the upholstery tools when I worked for a water restoration company, took around an hour to do it right but I couldnt get the small places.

Goop hand cleaner also works very well for removing stains from carpet. Had a buddy show me that on his S10 blazer we used as a parts hualer and used to just toss engine and trannies in the back of it all the time.Well after doing this a few times the light blue carpet was looking really bad and his wife was complaining so he tried the Goop and it looked great. So we pulled the entire carpet out and hand rubbed it with goop then blasted it with a pressure washer and the carpet looked as good as new.

Just drive through one of the car washes with the windows down and then open the doors when you're out...let it sit an hour or two in the sun to bake and you'll get the same effect...

Caution: Wear goggles and a wet suit...or maybe a goalie mask over that...those sprayers are pretty strong...and can blast you pretty good...

Carpet shampoo is one of the upholstery cleaners that are extensively used to clean not only the upholstery of the car seats but also the carpet of the car. Before using the carpet shampoo, use a wet-dry vacuum cleaner to vacuum the carpet. This would free the carpet of minute dust particles including hair, paper bits and sand. Use a scrub brush to rub in the shampoo foam into the carpet. Use as little water as possible when scrubbing the carpet. Once you have cleared the dirt and stains from the carpet, rinse the carpet well to remove the suds. The last step is to vacuum the carpet using wet-dry vacuum cleaner. Dry the car carpet well, prior to using it again. Ultima Interior Shampoo Gel is very good product for car carpet cleaning.

we do this all the time at the car dealership. the same thing can also be done to the seats. usually we go on a trailer to the car wash flip on the engine cleaner first and soak everything good and go over it with a brush then power wash it. same process with the seats except it takes a while longer for them to dry. usually when drying we tilt the seats so they drain nicely and lay the carpet on a incline. works GREAT!

My first Ranger had issues with water seeping into the carpet...I decided one fine spring day to remove the carpet and dry it out...that carpet must have weighed 100# because the underpad was saturated...I hung it up over a wood fence and it dripped for a day before it got 'moist' to the touch...took another day of full sun and flipping it around to completely dry it out...after that it might have weighed 20# tops...

Not sure if they still use the same type of under pad, but that is what you have to watch out for...if you put it in wet it will actually stay wet for a long time...

I just got rid of my first Ranger...my new cab is pretty water tight and the carpets are still dry after two years of driving it...

Another great carpet cleaner, is firefighting foam. If you can get your hands on it. That's what I use for stains.
