I will be ordering a carb today and want to make sure I get the right one for the conversion over to Dura spark. The one I want is from a 1979 Mustang II with the 2.8 V6, Is this right?

What are the differences between a auto carb and one for a manual trans. I found one for a 1978 Mustang with a 2.8, but its for an automatic trans.

not sure but i believe the auto trans carb has a dashpot, heard it can be removed easy and you'll have a manual trans carb...

So can the kickdown lever be removed? I have been looking at rebuilt ones from local autoparts store, But they only have auto trans carbs, So I wanted to know If I can use an auto trans one?

Just dont hook it up it wont have anything to connect to anyway. The easy way to tell if it is a 2100 or a 2150 the 2150 has the vacuum choke pull off pod on the passenger side.

Ok, Then I will call around monday and find the best deal on one, If the auto carb will work. I think I will try and get a electric choke as well.

Get the carb spacer felpro #60529 to plug the vacuum leaks you will have on the base of the carb. 1.08 venturi and #41 jets work the best on my motor. The smaller jets will net you more mpg and improved performance on the upper end.

Be real careful buying a carb on ebay I got burned twice, and a sticky throttle. one the venturi cluster was shot and the other the throttle shaft was real loose causing a big vacuum leak. that is a early 2150 its probably about $3 worth of scrap IMHO.

Yes you have to be careful on ebay. Im buying a rebuilt one from a local auto parts house. I just want to be sure Im getting the right one
