What would sound better on my 305 dual Cherrybomb Extreme's or dual Flowmaster Super 44's or a Ford motor? LOL I want it mad loud too but I can't decide between the Cherrys or the Masters.

you want loud just do straight 2 1/2 inch pipes. glasspacks depending on length do not muffle they amplify, dual 18s are quiet, 6 inches are loud as hell. the flowmasters are loud but they have the rumble and not as loud as you would expect. if all else fails open headers. a friend of mine had dual straits on his 305 chevy sounded like a nascar. 2 1/2 inch pipes w/ 3 inch round 18 inch long tips.

ya its loud but it aint legal
he's got a street truck

dont know 'bout you but glasspacks aint legal in fl

I've got Flowmasters on my LT1 Camaro and I don't like the sound of it (sounds like the big redneck trucks everyone around here has)... Then again, I never really have liked the way any SBC sounds (except maybe an LS1)...

Its all legal my friend in Ontario Canada. If your car is over 20 years old you can stick zumies out the top of your hood if you wanted to! Actually I think it has to exit behind the passenger compartment thats it. But it is a daily driver so I'm not sure about the straight pipe thing.

I'm not talking cherry bomb glasspacks I was thinking more of the 4 inch case race muffler they have. Anyone have any experience with those? I have glasspacks on it now...don't like it that much.

Yeah, glasspacks sound like ass. The extremes are pretty much the same thing as a flowmaster 10 series, they'll be very loud and IMHO too "raw" sounding. Personally I'm going to replace my 40 series on my Dakota eventually for an AeroTurbine 3030, they're spendy though at $125...

I had a set of cheap Summit mufflers behind a 327 with 2.5" exhaust in a '85 Grand Prix. They were really cheap and really loud. Sounded pretty mean, but it also had a lunati cam with a lot of duration. It was very obvious that something was done under the hood, people would try to race me in that thing all of the time.

Pete

I don't want to put much more money in the motor so I won't be camming it any time soon. Thanks for the suggestions I think I'll try to Extremes for now maybe switch it later if I don't like the sound.

Anything chambered will sound 'better' than galsspacks.

Flowmasters, Summit welded mufflers, Thrush's welded mufflers...

Go to summit racing, they have it all, for good prices as well.
