I ordered coil over shocks for the rear of my truck. Does anybody have an experience with these on a Ford ranger? I drive around always under a good load and I already have 500 pound helper springs.
Opinions on these shocks?

I had a set like that on the front of my F-150 for awhile…

the shocks themselves are tiny (thinner body and rod than mid to high grade OEM style). I’d probably never go back to them. Air bags or better springs would be more effective and comfortable with a good shock. I put Rough Country N3 shocks on my Choptop recently and it made enough of a difference that I’m re-evaluating all of my shock choices.

I hadn't thought of that. Thank you

What I have seen with spring shocks is; yes, they help to reduce sag, but they are not good quality shocks. I agree with lil Blue Ford, I buy good or excellent quality shocks an install air springs (bags) for load. The nice thing about air springs is, they are adjustable. However, you do have to check them for air pressure and add a little occasionally. They don't take much. I just us a few pumps with a bicycle hand pump.

The spring shocks are also a good tool to test how strong your shock mounts and rear frame are since nothing to do with the shocks was intended to actually carry weight.
