do a quick search, you will soon find out that the RC lifts are ok for stardard trail riding, and to allow for bigger tires, but the drop plate style lifts like RC and Tough country (TC) are junk. i'd stick with James duff (JD) or skyjacker (SJ)

They are good for a DD that occasionally sees a bit of off-road action, like huntin trips or a mud puddle every now and then. Just make sure the driverside bumpstop is properly set-up, unless you like the idea of the passenger side pivot drop plate punching a hole in the top of your diff housing.

Tuff Country has revised their drop plate to a drop bracket in recent years, and as such those brackets no longer pose a risk to damaging the D35.

I've also heard rumors that Rough Country has done the same. Though I make no guarantees.
.
All the cheaper kits for the Ranger TTB suspension have really stiff coils, and they will chatter your teeth (Tuff Country, Rough Country, BDS etc)

The more expensive kits, Skyjacker and James Duff provide much better coils than their cheaper counterparts.

Overall though the Rough Country kit is fine for just toolin' around off road and fitting larger tires.

i aint put a rc lift on the ford yet but i also drive a 1994 4x4 silverado an i put a 6in rc on it an its junk...i had to tighten the torsion keys completely to fit 35in bfg a/t an im worried bout off roadin in it because the lift is cheaply made an u are usin alot of the old parts still but if u are lookin fer just looks then have at it lol

Well my buddy got one for his 85 diesel and he loves it. And the lift will be goin on my dd/every once in awhile trail or mud puddle. Thanks for the input guys

i have a 4" rc lift on my 83 and it is worth the money and i fit 33s with no rubbing and no fender trim it rides a little rough but off road it performs well yea if your going to rock crawl it wouldnt be worth the time but for just some fun in the woods it does well and yea there are better kits out there but unless your going to do some hardcore stuff rc will work

33's? That seems like it would be a bit crowded?lol

Well i have had the lift on for awhile now and as far as how it handles on raod is okay its waay different then before it was lifted. havent done much wheelin' since then but for what i have done with stock brake lines its handled pretty good.but i think i will be buyin a better lift in the future.
