The Corded ones, made in Switzerland. They cost like 3x a Wal-Mart Black and decker drill does.

It's being advertised as the following, "BOSCH can be serviced (carbon motor brushes) by the owner and is designed and built to last a lifetime."

But I got some CHEAP Black and Decker drills 3/8" drive that I use with a wire wheel and have beat the crap out of, to the point there is slop in the chuck head! It will not drill straight holes without wobbling.

What would you guys do, get another B&D or try the Bosch?

Bosch. Hands down. Every B&D thing i have ever owned is a piece of - well, you know. I really like Makita hand tools. Everything I currently have (Drills, belt sanders orbital grinders, routers, DA sanders, jig saws, etc) are either that or Porter Cable. Never had any of them ever fail me. I've used a few orbital action jig saws and routers from Bosch, and they always seemed pretty high quality. Some of the intermediate tools like Ryobi's I put in the same catagory as B&D.

I've been happy with my Bosch angle grinder - it's been beat on pretty good, grinding/sanding/cutting/wire wheel everything from plastic to steel to concrete.

Got a Bosch SDS hammerdrill and been happy with that too.

For corded drills though, I'm partial to Milwaulkee stuff. I was sold on their quality when I borrowed a drill off a sheet metal fabricator. Thing was making all sorts of noise and metal shards kept sifting out, so I flipped it upside-down and shook it until the oily metal shards stopped coming out (and there was quite a pile of 'em). There was no wobble to the chuck or anything and after shaking it out, it quieted down a good bit. If it can take abuse like that..... lol

I don't have a small one yet, but I have a right-angle drill and love it. You can pull the right angle attachment off to use it as a straight drill, or it appears you can flip the right angle head end for end to change from high speed to low speed. I've drilled 3/4" holes through steel with it and it's got plenty of go but won't try to snap your wrist.
