I want to do some upgrades to my B2 and I need guidance. So, chime in on any of the questions
1. I want to install new headlights on the 88. What do you suggest ?
2. I have the stock radio installed I need a new one does anyone have the wiring diagram for the connection at the radio?
3. Will the early (1991/2) explorer rear hatch bolt on to the B2? I can get one free and it has a flip out window and if it will work on the Bronco I would like to use it.
4. I have a damaged drivers seat and I need a repair on the seat back . The material is slowly wearing out who makes good covers for the stock seat? The material wont last too long and I cant find replacement material so I need them covered.
5. needs tune up. Pros and cons of Platinum plugs.

New headlights..... What are you shooting for?

I've tried the imitation "blue" headlight, not worth the extra money. standard lights work great, had problems with other headlights, brightness, people flashing their brights at me while driving, but I'm not able to see any better than before.

Stock Radio..... why do you need the wiring diagram?

simply purchase a wiring harness adapter/converter that plugs into the existing wiring harness. They are very cheap and very easy to use. Most of the time they are color coded to match an aftermarket radio. Basically, they are almost idiot proof. I've wired dozens of radios in my lifetime and I will never attempt to figure out what wire does what again, I buy the adpators.

But if you insist on not doing it the correct way, then here is a link for wire colors:

Seats. Seat covers can be cheap to super expensive. you can take it by an upholstery shop and get their opinion and prices first. It's free and will give you an idea.

Plat. Plugs. I hear people swear by them, I've heard people state it's a waste of money. Me personally, I use standard plugs. Putting extra money into something as old as a b2 for little or no performance improvement just doesn't make sense. If it were a 2006 mustang or something....maybe. Might want to read around to see if anyones used these in this engine.

I know for a fact that simply because a plug cost more and supposedly better, that it may not work correctly in all engines. You can check me on that on ANY Jeep forum.
In the end, it's up to what you believe and how much you are willing to spend.

LMC sells a euro headlight upgrade, it'll convert your stock crap headlights to something that would be used in cars today. i'm gonna get them eventually

a diagram should come with the new radio, i'd go cheapo on it

dont think so, the EX is a little wider

check your local parts store, the more $$$ you spend, the better the quality will be
5. needs tune up. Pros and cons of Platinum plugs.put what the engine was designed to use, i think it'll be coppers. they're cheap and that's what ford says to use.

hope that helps

1)Hella E-code 200mm H4 replacement headlamps, the 1989-92 "aero headlamps look nice, but actually suck as lights

2)There are commercial "adapter plugs" to facilitate connecting aftermarket head units to the factory wiring, these typically cost $12 or so at your local Walmart/Advanced auto parts/etc you'll also eed a single DIN mounting kit to install a standard single DIN radio in a 1983-88 RBV this will cost another $15 or so

3)No.

4)Replace the seats.

5)Don't expect miracles from any plug. I run Motorcraft platinums (factory spec plugs) in my 4.0

Thanks I appreciate the input.
1. My headlights are dim at night now thought maybe newer ones would help. Just new ones I guess are best.
2.I was planning on a cheapo radio and I thought that the cheap ones wouldnt have a wiring harness available and I woulkd need the diagram to splice it together.
3. Didnt think so
4.Didnt want to replace the seats but may have to now with some explorer seats.
5. OK
