I am trying to figure out the best options between 3 possible trucks/options.
Currently own a 87 Single Cab Long bed 2.3 5 speed- currently operational and my daily driver.
Option 1 swap a 2.3 turbo coupe motor into current truck.
Option 2 swap a 302 into current truck.
Looking at buying a 2.3 turbo diesel Ranger.
Would love to hear thoughts on what you recommend and why
THanks!
Jonathan

Option #2... Cause everyone loves a V8... granted, it has been done to death... but you can't beat that V8 sound.

DD? Stay away from the 302. Gas guzzler. If it was not a DD then 302 be ok.

When you say "swamp" do you mean build a truck meant for mudding with that engine?

Oh. Haha, yeah been a long day for me too or I might have figured that out for myself.

i would say keep the current DDas it is, and get another Ranger for the engine swap. oth options rock the V8 and the turbo.

Thanks for the input I think that I will keep the old DD just the way she is and find a truck to build.

Again Thanks
Jonathan

I completely agree, a good daily driver is a nice thing to have. Especially a truck like that. Useful, efficient, and it's not so slow you can't drive it.
