I noticed that when I turn on the heated driver seat in my 2016 F150 that only the backrest heats up. I turned on the passenger seat and that seat cushion warms up. The light doesn't flash and the backrest stays warm on the drivers seat. I just need to figure out why the seat cushion doesn't heat up.

Anybody seen this where only 1/2 the seat heats?

Had that happen on the CTS(chevy), it was a common failing, usually on drivers seat because its was used the most
Seat stopped working but back still warmed up

One of the wires that comes thru the seat cushion foam would break
I pulled off the lower seat cover and had to solder a short wire to connect broken wire, not enough slack, it was in the front 1/4 so not hard to get at

But not sure on the Fords?

Do you have the heated and cooled seats or just the heated seats? They use different systems.

I have the heated and cooled.

One of three things is most likely going on.

The HVAC module may have a software error and need reprogrammed. This one is rare, but we have seen it a few times and it takes forever to diagnose because Ford doesn't have a message out about it.

The cushion TED is dead.

The DSM is dead.

About the only thing you can easily check yourself is to turn the system on and listen at the cushion for fan.

If you are feeling a little more adventurous the TEDs are the same side to side, and you can swap them to see if the problem follows the part.

You're obviously suffering from cold farts syndrome. Add more hot sauce to your diet.
