ongoing problem

well since i got my truck on the road a few weeks ago its been having all sorts of problems. but the one i cant seem to fix is some sort of hesitation. its been jerking and shuddering. i changed the distributor cap, plugs and wires. its seems to worse in the rain (most likely electrical then). the one night i couldnt make it home. i could barely pull out and it would jump back and forth (like i was bad on clutch) and it was sputtering and carrying on and shut off on me a few times. then tonight i was slowing down for a red light and it shut off. and wouldnt start up again. all my lights worked and so did my radio. it didnt even try to turn over. luckily my brothers buddy saw and pushed me over to the gas station across the street (in another ranger) i called my dad and he came down and was trying different things but when i turned the key, nothing happned. right as he was getting his chain to pull me home it started up. it ran fine for the most part but still did a little studdering.

what do you guys think the problem is?

I'd start by looking at grounds, and electrical connections at the alternator, starter, and battery.

i would get your alternator checked at your local autoparts store (autozone) i had the same problem but i luckily caught it early
