I have a 97 2wd extended cab 2.3 with a 5 speed manual tranny. I hate the split driveshaft set up. I have found a few people updating to the one piece. Do you really have to bend and cut things to make it work. I understand removing the center bearing mount but I do not want to remove the cross member or cut the floor. What is your feedback and what needs to be done. It is 2wd.... Thanks!

The center bearing support cross member has to be removed completely because the new drive shaft will pass through it. If you get one of the newest ones which are bigger around AND have a fuel tank skid plate that would need trimmed to avoid rubbing.

Other than that, nothing needs cut, bent, or trimmed at all.
