I have a 87 Ranger STX. I swapped a FM146 from a 88 ranger into her. My question is will a one piece drive shaft from a 2003 ranger supercab 4x4 work for the swap? :dunno:

Should. I have an 87 with an M5OD which is the same length as the 146. I put a 1-piece off a 98 in. As long as your truck is a super 4x4, then the 03 shaft will work, you just have to get a second transmission end flange and put it on the back end of the shaft to match your axle companion flange bolt spacing. Also, don't forget to trim your gas tank skid plate at the back. I didn't and haven't had any trouble yet, but I haven't been anywhere but the highway yet. I plan to do it before I get off road.
