On it's last leg....or something (Updates)

Finally gettn' rid of the G/Fs Chebby sprung a hole in the water pump leaks about a quart of antifreeze in about four hours of sitting Its the last straw... among other issues bad ABS, bad sensors check engine light always on, bad CV joint, no cooling fan, likes to melt starter wire, goes through alternator belts, trans leaks, cheack oil light always on, idles irraticly, front rotors falling apart, trunk no longer opens with key, glove compartment doesn't open at all... it only has 181,000 on it. :icon_confused:hmmm, ask me again why I think GM products are junk!!

Went test driving some cars last night going back out again today once she gets off work. I'm going clean her up and wash it so it "looks" good for trade in. She's wanting either a four door Civic, Accord of a small suv like the Jeep Liberty, or Toyota Rav4, Ford Escape, Honda CRV, Etc... We're aming toward Honda.:dunno:

Depends on the price and condition and it needs to be automatic she refuses to learn 5-speed:annoyed: the only one we found used around here is a five speed and 2wd...

5 spds arent hard to learn i learnt how to drive one going to inspection. and im still learning 2 weeks later

I've triied to learn her a couple of times once with my Integra then again in my '86 Ranger but she just dosn't get it and I don't have patients.

my sister refuses to learn how to drive my ranger. i told her, if you learn how to drive stick it will be easier to drive an auto. she goes for her permit in august i think

Plus there are 4 used Honda dealerships with cheap lowmile cars and suvs around here and at least 5 or 6 more in next towns over being that Hondas are built here and since I work for Honda I get a 10% discount.

I like Fords but the Honda CRV might be a good vehicle to consider. Stay away from the Jeep Liberty - they have a terrible reputation for reliability. I like the Wranglers, though!

My neighbor's wife had a Liberty for about a month and traded it back in because it was a stinking gas hog.

naw man get the ford edge my mom got one 2 weeks before i got my ranger in feburary it is a peice of work, rides amazing, four door, awd very nice car.

Problem with Edge is price those are too new were not looking to spend over $8500.00. We found several cars but by the time I got around to looking at her car to find out were it was leaking from we was only able to go to one dealership, before closing time so we went window shoping after and picked a few to drive today. I hafta to say something about the Liberty to her we test drove a '06 4x4 last night we both liked it more the the '01 Civic we drove before. They wanted 11k for it but we just wanted to try it out. Sucks that it's that bad. Thanks guys!:icon_thumby:

Just my 2 cents but go with an Escape.... got the wife an 02 and have had it since 04 and haven't had a lick of troube with it.

Just recently got my wife an 02 also. Got the 3.0 in it. Only thing I've had to do was replace the cd changer. Great suv other than that

It didnt spring a hole in the water pump. Unless you notice a huge hole. Its called teh weephole. Its designed that when the seal in the water pump goes bad it slowly lets it leak to tell you you need a new water pump. All water pumps have them.

the liberty isnt as "nice" as most folks. for a suv, it has a extremely harsh ride and you can only squeeze 300 miles out of a tank if it has the v6. my wife has one and we bought a vw beetle tdi for her to commute in just for the gas mileage. as far as reliability, it has been great no issues. but ur gf better have two jobs to keep fuel in it.
