so i went and took a look at a ranger that was on CL for 750$. it said it had a small eletrical fire.......

looks minor dont it:thefinger:

But it does have an air freshener hanging from the mirror; so you won't even notice that there was a little fire.

nothing a new windshield ($150) and similar ammount in U-pull-it parts wouldn't fix

But it's a 2wd truck, $750 for a truck requiring that kinda fixing is a bit steep.

if i sold you a truck that was missing all the parts that are required to fix this one (dashboard, cluster, speedo cable, main wiring harness and fuse panel, a pillar trim, headliner, windshield, possibly heater controls) would you still pay $750? rangers are like women, theres lots of them out there in many shapes and colors and many are very cheap and easy to get.....keep looking

Frankly in THAT condition if that truck were otherwise
in good condition (I.E. No rust or collision damage and a good
running V6 engine) it's still probably worth $500. after it's fixed more like $1200 (cost of labor)

You are aware that the ENTIRE dashboard can be removed with half a dozen fasteners?

Nothing a few trips to the junkyard wouldn't fix...but I agree...the price is too high for that kind of work..unless the body and engine are super clean and low mileage...

the body is dinged and scratched. rust in the wheel wells the motor has 146K on it. its a 2.9. the clutch is startin to slip. also the key is broke of in the tumbler

My brother's Torino burned up once when we were kids. The muffler took a curb and got mashed against the floor. It smelled bad for a while, but it was okay. Until the day we skippped school and tried to drive it to Des Moines. The carpet burst into flames. We all leapt out and ran. There was black smoke backlit by flashes of orange flames pouring out the windows. We stood back from it for a while but no fire trucks or anything came--pre cellphone days. Finally, we started to creep back up to and throw snow into it. Still nobody stopped. So we got back in and kept going. We had to scrape the inside of the front windshield and it smalled horrible. And out entire tape collection was melted. The carpet was fried, but the seats were okay. We never fixed the muffler and the floor still got hot, but of course the combustibles had been removed.

It's ony rock-n-roll, baby. Buy it, drive it, love it.

What was in Des Moines worth skipping school and burning up a car?

LOL I have a friend from there, and he says there's a whole lotta nothin'.

i live ten minutes from there... all they have is gambling on top of us lol...

that's mostly the only reason people from omaha go over the river.
