dr83 did it. just ask him i think he had input shaft troubles but nothin to major...
depends if you have mazda 5 speed or toyo koygo

To tell look under the truck at the oil pan on the tranny. The Toyo Koygo oil pan has 14 bolts on it. The other one looks Like an automatic tranny fluid pan, a steel stamped type. In 85 they went with an internal slave cylinder.

Heres a link to the tech. library that should help you out alot.

I had shaft problem because I tried to bolt up an 85 bellhousing which has the internal slave cyilinder to and 83 tranny that didnt. The 83 has a sleeve over the shaft that the throw-out bearing glided on as compaired to the 85 which didnt. a simple unbolting, hack sawing the sleeve off and rebloting fixed that problem.

that was a lot of help.. that link saysi have a toyo koygo, and that 88ranger has a Mitsubishi FM132 so is this what you swaped in if so ill pick it up tomoro

NO. I took the bellhousing off of an 85 Toyo Koyo and put it on my 83 Toyo Koygo. An 85 and up has an internal slave cylinder. The 83 and 84 have external. Thats how I ran into my problem. The 2.8,2.9 and 4.0 have the same bolt patterns for bellhousings. You might have to do drive shaft modifications but not sure. The tranny will bolt to the engine plus is stronger the the Toyo Koygo.

still wondering about the brake booster would rilly like working brakes lol

I dont see why there would be a difference. The easiest way would go to a parts store and check the part numbers on and 88 and an 85.
