on my 2000 ranger I can't find 4x4CM Its not behind the pass. kick panel. any help out there?
 
Surely.

Pull out the center dash bezel that holds the radio.
Note that there are two screws holding that bezel, visible if you lay on the floor and look up. The rest are friction clips that you can just pry out.

The 4x4 CM is in there along with the GEM.
