Older OEM wheels on 2011 Ranger

Hello Everyone,

Just bought a 2011 Ranger XLT 4x4. I put on my older OEM Ranger/Explorer wheels with winter tires on and realized they do not fit on the front. They rub on the brake calipers. So, the brake calipers must have changed. The wheels I was trying to use were the 10 hole/10 ovals style like these:

The wheels that came with the '11 are also 15 inch and they fit fine. I was thinking of using a 3 or 5mm spacer to clear the calipers. Good idea or no?

Hmm...I just learned that Ford changed the front brake rotor to a larger size.

well that bites...i just bought a new set of wheels, and thought that somewhere later on down the line i could just use them on a newer ranger, guess i'll have to figure out when the change was and not get too new of a truck....but im not done with the '93 yet either...might be awhile.

Switch happened in 01/02 I believe.

Just ran into this with my 02 sport trac...but the wheels I was trying to fit came off an 06 or 07 ranger sport 2wd and would not clear the calipers on the 02 sport trac 4x4

I'm thinking of just going to 16" wheels next winter. Should solve my issue.

Just go aftermarket, there are so many options out there. I would recommend getting black, because you can never go wrong with black.

I got 16s on mine.

Racsan, your wheels are probably OK as they are not OEM. Let's hope so at best.
