I just bought a 2002 Ranger XLT. 4.0, Auto, 4 door. I have wanted this truck for a while and just couldn't afford to buy a one new. I FINALLY found this truck at a ford dealer in town and bought it. Now I need you young gear heads to help me build my dream truck. I am asking for you guys to help me start small and build up from a good base. I won't say money is no object, but I will say let's start with the minor things first. I am not interested in a mud boggin', rock crawlin', tree climber. I just want the BADDEST Ranger in town. Thanks in advance, lets build a bullet.

id say we need to know exacty what your idea of "bad" is before we can give you any worthwhile advice.

are you looking for a mild 4x4 build or would you rather go the route of a mostly on-pavement "race" truck? are engine swaps in the picture or no? lift kits for IFS truck are quite spendy...but a set of lockers is likely to get you further off road anyway (although it wont "look" as cool, since you cant see lockers). so i guess im wonder if this is going to be a "looker" or a "do'er".

This truck will be a daily for now. I just need simple upgrades to start. I do need occasional 4x4, but nothing too serious. By faster I want off the line GO, just enough to pi** of an S-10, Tacoma, Frontier. I've posted basically the same thread i the "General" category, so look me up there. Thanks!

Intake and Exhaust is the simplest/cheapest things you can do, and they help your engine breath/exhale alot better, thus adding more hp/torque, better gas mileage, and better low/top-end performance...you should be well on your way to kicking the S*** out of some S-10s lol
