Old Bronco II Gets New Paint

Decided the Bronco could use some fresh paint. My dad is restoring a '68 Firebird and since he had never sprayed before, he wanted something to practice on. I didn't hesitate one minute to offer my truck as the guinea pig. Sanded it all down and took care of what little body work needed to be done. Cleaned out the garage and hung plastic. And here's what we ended up with...

Here's the truck before paint. It wasn't in bad shape except for the hood and the roof.

And here she is out by the lake all painted up

It's a work in progress. I need to get it color sanded and buffed to bring out the shine, and the pinstripes still need to be put back on, but overall the paint job didn't turn out too bad.

It doesn't look very glossy in most of the pictures.

how many coats of clear went on it? other than that it looks amazing. nice lookin truck. yea be sure to post new pics after buffing.

Thats a clean looking rig you have !! I think the paint job looks nice although it doesn't look very shiny but if you're going wheel it who cares

I was a little upset in the begining of the O.P. I saw that it was a nice 1st gen. Eddie B2 and saw that he was gonna repaint

BUT, after I saw that he was keeping the green and tan tu-tone I was happy

Good job! Looks awesome especially for a first time.

By the way, I'm a little partial to the eddie green and tan.

Looks good. You need some sort of pin stripe or something to split up the tan and green. Other than that it looks great.

Well done, if i can make a helpful suggestion on sanding/buffing, dry sanding with 1200 grit on a DA will really make the clear shine, and you won't notice the sand scratches that you would hand sanding it.
