Ok...So the question everyone asks when buying a lift...

? I had asked this in the conversion section and was told i would be ok with the stock drivetrain because i wont be "beefing" up the engine to make 400+ hp lol Is that a absolute need and why?

i say this b/c i broke a 7.5 shaft and 2 d28 shafts with a 4.0, 3.73's, and 30's... this was trail riding, being easy on the throttle. maybe i'm wrong tho. i've never done the 302 on stock drivetrain.. only 302 ranger i've drove was full width d44/9"

Well either way thats way down the road from now. I havent really done anything to this truck other than fixing the little things lol. My plans right now is to lift it, bigger tires, gears... then think about wether or not to do the engine now or later (we'll see how this engine keeps up)... and i was thinking of doing a 4.0L instead since i hear they are great engines and quite a few people take them over the 302 anyways.

I never considered an axle swap because, like i said before, this isnt a trail-based truck that i mean to jump off any rocks with or anything lol. That and thats yet another thing that i know nothing about that would require me basically do it myself or break the bank getting someone else to do it for me... :/
