My truck has an 80" wide vinyl seat and not a damn nook, cranny nor cupholder. Maybe people 20 years ago didn't do as much? No cell or other electronic gadgets to play with. All you had was a sandbag weighted box that you slung over the hump like a saddle to hold your Doors tapes.

My wife's car has about 9 cupholders and 15 storage pouches and compartments. All of them are full so it's just the same as not having them. There's no place to sit--you open a door and it's like John Candy's closet with all the shit that comes cascading out. If she gets pulled over she'll never find her insurance or registration cards. Not that she would actually notice a police car behind her with the lights and sirens going--they would have to start throwing road flares over her roof and landing them on the hood.

I have been rolling down the interstate and had a truck pass me, the idiot driving had his FEET hanging out the window! The other day at work, we were on an emergent run to the local prison, my partner driving was on her cell phone arguing with her boy friend the entire time, while she was driving lights and sirens clearing intersections. About the cup holder problem on older cars, I found an old shoe to work great for holding cups. Better get a big foot shoe for bigger cups.

Stories like these really make people just talking on their cell phone seem intelligent. 1 Sunday morning I passed a guy doing 30 in a 45 while reading a book and swerving all over the road. That same day about 10 minutes later I stopped at a red light and 20 seconds later a woman goes by, also doing 30 in a 45, with her head laying at a 90 degree angle on her left arm and a cell phone sandwiched between her head and arm, while she goes through the light that had been red for quite a while. This really isn't a huge surprise to be honest. Florida will give a license to anybody and I really mean anybody, no driver skill or judgement ability required at all. Darwin is spinning in his grave.

For people watching TV well driving, my dad used to find the right frequency on his CB and key-up, if that would not do it, he'd just put the kicker on low and talk to them as god. good times.
