I really should know the answers to these.... but for some reason I just can't come up with the answers right now (I guess I got too much other crap on my mind) These questions all pertain to my '89 Choptop BII, 2.9L, 5-speed, was a 2wd.

1) What amp fuse is supposed to be on the back of a stock radio?

2) What is that fuse responsible for?

3) Any idea why the clock on my stock radio loses time?

4) Can I use a Premium Sound stock radio in a non-premium sound truck? (I know I'd have to adapt some wiring, but I'm not sure if I need the premium sound amp and all that stuff to make it work right) Premium sound radio is a cassette deck from a 92 Explorer.

5) How many amps go through the inertia switch circuit?

6) How many amps is the rear windshield wiper/washer switch rated for?

7) I have a brown wire with a light blue stripe paired with a black wire. Previous owner cut them from wherever they were supposed to go. Brown/lt blue seems to be constant hot. Both these wires are in a short piece of loom (it was cut too) on the drivers side. Any clue as to WTF these are supposed to go to?

8) Does my dome light only require one wire or is it supposed to have two wires? (Those were cut too.)

9) Any idea where the wire for the dome light usually runs?

I think that's all for now... I'd like to break the fingers of the previous owner... he hacked up WAAY too much wiring.

1. 10A
2. protecting the circuit board inside the radio
3. the "memory" wire is not hooked up. Needs to be constant hot.
4. No. You have to have the Premium amp and the deck. < spend a couple bucks and get an aftermarket deck and amp. Premium deck goes on ebay. Take any bid you get for it. Trust me, you'll be happier without it.
5. max on this is around 5A IIRC.
6. 10A
7. no idea. If they are constant hot, maybe use it for your memory wire for your deck.
8. These are 1 wire only
9. from the dome light through a doorpin switch...

Thanks for the help Red85! I was thinking along those lines but wanted some verification. Especially about the inertia switch since the only fuse I could find related to that circuit was the 30 amp under the hood. I didn't think the inertia switch itself would have to be rated that high, but just wanted to be sure.
