Oil pressure problem...

When i blew a head gasket and cracked on of my heads, the oil pressure light came on at the same time. I Have replaced the heads and gaskets and the pressure light is still on? But when the engine is slightly reved up, say past 2 rpms it goes off, and then when the engine goes back to an idle the light come back on. We hooked up a pressure gauge to it and it barely rose any. Need help on this one...

Sounds like your oil pump pick up could be clogged now. See a lot of people recommending that you let diesel or some other solvent soak to help (drain, and refill with oil, don't run it with solvent), I would definitely make a prime tool from an old distributor to verify the problem is resolved before starting the engine with this issue going that route. Since you already have the exhaust manifolds busted loose, your best bet is to pull the engine and oil pan to see what is going on. Hard to say exactly what the problem would be, you did change the oil and filter, right?
