I believe the oil pan is leaking. I believe. I've replaced the valve cover gasket and the exterior shafts seals front and back. The oil pan still has oil on it and there is an oil spot on the concrete. I really don't have time to remove the tranny, disconnect the motor mounts (which could probably use replacing), lift the motor up enough to get the pan off. Besides, I suffer from lazyitis. So, I thought of seeing if oil stop leak would help, but I'm concerned about making the newer seals swell up. Is that concern valid?

It would be a little bit of work, but I would take a 1/4 drive ratchet with a very long extension, maybe two extensions put together, and then see if you can get in there and just snug the oil pan bolts up a little bit to try and stop the leak.

I wouldn't use stop leak. I would likely suspect the oil pressure sending unit, I've had that problem before...

How much of a job is it changing that sensor out?
I wouldn't change it, just tighten it up, I don't remember if it's 1/2" or 9/16" open end wrench but it's reachable from the top, I'll go look at my spare engine and let you know...

I have a spare '87 and '90 engine, the older has the bigger bell shaped sender which has a 9/16" hex near the threads, the newer one has the newer version that has a goofy ford version and I'd just grab it with some channel locks and go for it... they're 1/8" pipe thread so you can tighten them up. Being one wire senders not using sealant is recommended as they rely on the thread contact to ground...

If you are curious where the oil sender is it's at the top rear drivers side corner of the cylinder head, I have a picture but that's too much work, it's pointing to the drivers side about an inch under the valve cover like an inch from the back corner of the head...
