Hey Everybody. Got some questions here.

I have a 98 3.0L B3000 truck and I had an oil pump failure awhile back and the engine seized up. I plan on buying a remanufactured engine and dropping it in hopefully soon. I haven't started my autopsy of the engine yet but just as an estimate, whats gonna be broken, damaged?

Also I was looking into replacing my transfer case or at least repairing it/replacing some parts on it. how much is that going to run me and how hard is it to replace?

cam shaft position synchronizer is probably what got you

I couldn't tell you exactly what all is wrong with that engine with out taking it apart, but needless to say it's no good

Edit:

FWIW 3.0L section will get you better answers as that pertains to this specific engine

Everything in the rotating assembly is likely to be damaged.

How and why do you figure that its the camshaft position synchronizer?

Well i figure most of the engine is going to to toast, that's why i'm going for the remanned engine. I'll be keeping this thread alive once i start ripping into my truck but that's still a couple weeks out.
