Oil pressure?

My 94 4.0 sat about 6 months with a toasted transmission, after getting the new one in I fired it up and have driven it about 200 miles since first starting it.
Now the issue, the oil pressure gauge has been acting wacky. It sits on the left side of the "n" in normal. Im aware that these things arent exactly precision tuned instruments but the truck has been getting terrible gas mileage (about 13 instead of the usual 17-18) and doesnt seem to have a whole lot of power especially when trying to get it on the highway. I've tuned the truck up and it has fresh 5w30/filter. The engine doesn't click or clatter and the only other related issue is an exhaust leak that could be causing it to run rich which might explain the bad gas mileage and power by itself.
So what should I do about this oil pressure business? If it weren't for the not so great power I wouldnt even worry about it but I dont want to ruin this engine.

Forgetaboutit!! If the thing don't clatter then you have ENOUGH oil pressure. The oiling system in our engines is the last thing to worry about. They either work fine OR they quit completely! There is little to worry about when it comes to oil pressure. The ONLY reason to put any kind of light or gauge in the truck is because the customer thinks he NEEDS one! Actually the oil pump is prolly the most reliable part of the moving parts of the engine.

Depending on where the leak is it could be causing your O2 sensers to read incorrectly.

I believe the leak is at the drivers side manifold to y-pipe connection, so its probably causing that side to register lean. My Check engine light is on but I have no idea how to pull codes...I keep hearing things about a paperclip lol. Could anybody shed some light on that?

Touch the connector for the oil pressure sender to a good ground with the key on the guage should read high. If so it is either the connector or the sending unit.
