just woundering what the normal oil pressure for a 2.9 is? After my truck gets warmed up my oil pressure is about 10psi at idle and 30 psi at 70 mph on the freeway. just wondering if that normal. thanks for the help.

What weight of oil are you running?? 10w-30?? 5w-30??

the idle is about normal...maybe a touch on the low side, but within the "normal range"

the road travel psi is also a bit more lower than what I'd like to see...but again probably within the normal range.

Oil filters brands do make a difference too on over all psi levels. the cheaper ones tend to be more restrictive. I've had good luck with motorcraft or wix

I'm running sae 30 oil in my truck and am using a fram tough guard filter, mabe its just time for an over haul, I'm not sure, they guy i bought the truck from last year said the motor was just gone threw so i don't know.

rule of thumb is ussualy 10psi for every 1000rpm so is your under 3000rpms on the highway 30 should be ok. my chevy 350 has 250000miles and just put in a high volume pump and still at 7psi at idle and 30psi at 3000rpm and going strong
