Hey folks got my 2001 running and noticed that the needle on the oil pressure gauge has somehow jumped over the stop peg. Any ideas on fixing this easily or do I have to take the instrument panel apart? Does anyone know if the needle is metal or plastic. Thanks for any help. :icon_confused:

needles are plastic , my oil pressure is the same way , I am just waiting for it to warm up to take the dash apart and hopefully move the needle over the post

Figures. Thanks. I'll be taking mine apart this week so I'll let you know how it goes.

It was a pain in the ass for sure but well worth it. You have to remove the center dash panel with the radio and the lower panel under the steering wheel and then the metal plate behind that then the dash panel and finally the clear bezel. A sharp putty knife helped me.

I figured it was a pain to get to , but was it worth the work , did you get the needle to the correct side of the pin and does it work now

Took about two seconds after the 20 minutes to get to it and it works like it should. What I can't figure out is how it got past the peg in the first place. :icon_confused:

My 99 needle is metal. I just used a strong magnet and moved it back to the starting position through the clear plastic. Didn’t have to pull anything.

The needle on my 99 is metal. I moved it back with a magnet.
