What oil pans are you guys running with a 99 v8 ranger? will the rear sump pan work? Thanks joey!

Foxbody dual sump

edit: mine is obviously an '85 and is completely different...

Mine is an 86 but I am using an 89 Crown Victoria dual sump pan. I think it is the same pan that is on the Mustangs.

They are.

I think I could get a front sump in mine if I wanted but it wouldn't work with my Explorer front accessory drive.

If you're putting it in a 4x4 truck the explorer pan works just fine as the suspension is identical, just space down the sway bar with some 1 inch steel blocks to clear the crank pulley

98 newer Rangers use the Explorer pan, Coil spring suspension needs the stamped steel one while the torsion bar ones can use steel or the alum one. Never heard having to space the sway bar down.

I know you guys use dual sump pans but no one said anything about rear sump pans which I have on my engine and want to know if I can use it!

I used a generic rear sump Ford Performance Parts, very tight across the rack and pinion, too wide at the back to use OEM Explorer front cats.

Had the opportunity to move to a different sump, used a steel Explorer sump and even on that, moved the leading/lower edge of the sump back to the drain plug to make install with transmission attached easier.

I belive that without the transmission, either the steel or aluminum Explorer sump will fit if the engine is lowered straight down, but it'll be tight.

Dose any dual sump pans have dipsticks in them?

Just have the one in the back. Front is just a catch basin that overflows to the rear.
