Howdy, i was trying to take off my oil pan with the motor still in because i blew a rod bearing or maybe worse and i wanted to check it out without taking out the motor. i got all the bolts out but there is no room to take the oil pan out itself. anyone know a way to do it? or do i just need to pull the motor?

Probably pull the motor. I know the only way to get it out on a 3.0 is jack up the engine and drop the tranny, or take out the engine.

gah i figured i would have to do something like that. guess i'll just wait till i can use a lift at school. thanks

you MIGHT be able to get it off if you undid the motor mounts (one nut on each side, you'll need an 18mm wrench) and jack up the engine, but it's still not going to be easy
