ughhh maybe on bottom of the motor? ....

Thanks man. Mine is a little different setup but I just found it. the filter hangs down instead of sideways and the oil drain plug is kinda on the side almost hidden. your page did help as I was looking for like a black pan. I owned japanese cars before this and the black oil pans where right next to the filter as clear as day.

The latest generation 2.3's, the plug is on the side like he said facing the passenger side tire. It took me a second to find mine the first time also. Everything is cast aluminum under there and looks the same.

Hey teck you like how the factory oil filter is put on there? I think they bring in gorillas from the Como Zoo (the zoo in St Paul where they make the truck) to twist them on.

Ever try getting a filter that Minit-Lube, or Wal-Mart has put on? I swear they use Impact tools to do it.

yeah they do that on purpose so you will take it to the dealer. I got a good filter wrench though. I like how the filter is facing down so the oil drips straight down instead of all over the engine.
