Oil pan clearance

I never notice till I pulled te motor out but my Stock I beam has been hitting my oil pan. I can post a pic later. The engine is as high and far back as I can get it. Any suggestions how to resolve this? Was really hoping to drop the front a couple inches but that would only exaggerate the problem from what I can imagine.

How can that be when the beams run under the engine cross member protecting the oil pan.

Your motor is contacting your engine crossmember, check your motor mounts and see if they are torn or ripped. Also, what oil pan are you using? What motor mount setup you went with?

i came across that problem with my 91 ranger. what i did was used a flat plate 1\2 thick i mounted that to the frame and slotted it so my mount would slide down into it. my motor mount was from a 93 convertible

My adapters look like these (Trans Dapt P/N 9716) and the mounts are from the 91' F150 my 302 came out of. It's not hitting the cross member just the I beams. The I beams aren't underneath the cross member on my truck, they're kinda parallel looking down on them. I'll post a pic if I can...

You have to modify that mount at all? Did it require any kind of adapter?

i didnt have to modify my motor mounts at all..on my plates they were 1/4 and not a 1/2 my mistake. here is a picture of how my motor sats and the next picture is how my plate was made to lower my motor.

The right hand I beam is behind the cross member and will contact the 6 quart oil pan used in the F150s. You can modify it to clear or use the crown vic/mustang dual sump pan.

I have a dual sump pan. Wasn't sure if the front was to tall? Thought it would hit the cross member... Wasn't going to use it. It's really nice. Polished steel. I'm getting a 5.0L HO from a 91' Mustang. Will the pan on it work or should I use the dual sump one?

I am not pleased at all with the fitment of my dual sump pan. One side took 1/2" of washers and the other side took 1/2" of washers and 1/2" of plate to get it so the drain plug wasn't sitting on the pivot bracket. And then I had to hacksaw the new drainplug off to get it out and hunt for a shorter one at the first oil change.

But 4x4's are different than 2wd's...

Has anyone used a dual sump pan in a 91 ranger without any problems? With what engine mount set up?

Hit up iron ranger, he has a gen2 ranger with a 5.0, I believe he used the dual dump, but he is 2wd...

I'm using a dual sump and also had the ibeam scrap the pan when the fronts springs compress. It barely rubs the pan, I took a angle grinder and shaved the lip on my ibeam until it cleared the pan, I say about 3' long section the thickness of a music cd is all I had to remove. I'm using adapter plates and stock v6 mounts and 3'' drop beam also.

I'm hitting pretty hard, and it's without the front dropped. I'm going to have to figure something else out. I'm suprised I didn't bust the pan open...
