I am trying to replace my oil pan gasket on the 4.0 I am about to swap. Got all the bolts out except the rear bolt on each side. They appear to be allen heads, but I have tried standard and metric allen wrenches, but neither fit. How do I loosen them?

Think they are torques. Not allens

That may be it. I couldn't really tell since they were so dirty, but they didnt appear to be torx.

Yep!

Take a short wire and clean them out. Then take a Q-tip with lots of gasoline and swab them CLEAN. You do want the torx or star tool to fit all the way to the bottom of them holes.
If the holes ain't clean the wrench MIGHT strip the holes.. that's a lot of trouble..
